Simplified board
Group tiles into subcategories so each screen has fewer tiles. Off by default — turn on once and your choice is remembered. Reloads the app on change.
Children's profiles missing?
If your kids' profiles aren't showing up after sign-in, this clears the local "remove" filters and re-pulls every child from your account. Use only when profiles you expect to see are missing.

Rearrange the order children see on the board. Use ▲▼ to move tiles up and down.

Profile access
See exactly who can read each of your child's data. For profiles you own, you can revoke a therapist's access in one click. For profiles linked to you (via a parent's code or a school invite), you'll see who owns them.
When set, the app boots straight into this child's board every time. Great if each child has their own iPad. Leave on "No pin" if multiple kids share this device and you switch between profiles.
Cloud sync status
Push any pending taps up to the cloud and pull the latest progress for the active child back down. Useful if a child has been using the board on another device and you want their progress to appear here, or if you just want to confirm everything is safely backed up.
Language
Choose the spoken language for symbol playback. The board, characters, and the rest of the app will keep speaking in this language until changed.
Parental lock
Set a 4-digit PIN to lock children out of Settings, Parent, Therapist, and Coach tabs.
Active mode — lock the device
Stops your child from swiping out of VoiceBloom mid-session. Apple doesn't let third-party apps disable the home gesture, so iOS provides this as a built-in feature called Guided Access.
iPad / iPhone — one-time setup (10 seconds):
- Open iOS Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access.
- Turn Guided Access on.
- Tap Passcode Settings → Set Guided Access Passcode and pick a 6-digit code.
Android:
Settings → Security → App pinning (or Screen pinning) → on. Then from the Recents view, tap the VoiceBloom thumbnail icon → Pin. Hold Back + Recents to leave.
