Getting started

Setting up VoiceBloom

VoiceBloom is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) app designed for non-verbal and minimally verbal children with autism. It provides a full symbol board with text-to-speech output, weekly progress reports based on each session, a built-in coach, and tools for parents and therapists to track communication development over time.
Sign up with just your email address to start a free 30-day trial, no credit card required. Nothing is charged during the trial. During onboarding you'll set up your child's profile, including their name, age, communication level, and interests, and choose a companion character. VoiceBloom uses this information to tailor the coaching and progress reports from the very first session.
No credit card required. Just sign up with your email and you get full access to all features for 30 days, with nothing charged during the trial. We'll remind you before it ends. If you'd like to keep going, add a payment method then to continue your plan. If you don't, the trial simply stops and you're never billed.
VoiceBloom runs fully featured on the web at voicebloom.ca. Sign in on any iPad, iPhone, Android tablet or phone, Chromebook, or computer and your child's board is ready to go. The iOS app is live on the App Store and the Android app is live on Google Play; the web app also works on any device.
VoiceBloom is designed for children aged 2 to 12, though it can be used by individuals of any age who benefit from AAC. VoiceBloom adapts the symbol board complexity, vocabulary, and interaction style based on the communication level set during onboarding.
Features

How VoiceBloom works

Every time your child taps a symbol, VoiceBloom tracks which words and categories they use most and when they communicate. It turns that into a plain-language weekly progress report and guides the built-in coach on what to work on next. You stay in control of the board itself: add custom symbols and arrange the tiles so the words your child reaches for most are front and centre.
Yes. You can upload any photo from your camera roll, give it a label, and it appears on your child's board immediately. Custom symbols are great for family members, pets, favourite foods, or specific items your child interacts with daily. Custom symbols sync across all devices instantly.
Every week, VoiceBloom generates a personalized report. It summarizes your child's communication activity, including total symbol taps, new words used, most active categories, session frequency, and trends over time. Parents and therapists each receive a version tailored to their perspective.
During onboarding, your child chooses a companion character: Finn the dog, Leo the lion, Bella the bear, Zara the cat, or Pip the penguin. The character reacts to symbol taps with animations, making communication feel like play. Characters are designed to encourage engagement without being distracting.
Yes. When your child taps a symbol or builds a sentence, VoiceBloom speaks the words aloud using the device's built-in text-to-speech engine. This works on all devices and even works offline.
English, French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese are fully supported, including text-to-speech and all Smart features. If you need a specific language, contact us. Community requests help us prioritise.
Yes. The symbol board and text-to-speech work without an internet connection, so your child can communicate anywhere. Smart features like the weekly report, Coach, and IEP generator require a connection and sync automatically when you're back online.
Pricing and billing

Plans, payments, and subscriptions

VoiceBloom offers three plans. Family is $19.99/month or $199.99/year (save 17% on annual, CAD) and includes a 30-day free trial, no credit card required to start. Therapy and Education are custom-priced licensing: the quote scales with seat count, invoice-billed (Net-30, CAD), no credit card required; contact info@voicebloom.ca for a quote. We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe, our PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We do not store your card details on our servers.
Yes. You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from the billing portal inside the app. If you switch from monthly to annual you'll receive a prorated credit for the remainder of your current billing period. Education plans are annual-only and not affected.
Cancel any time from the billing portal inside the app. No phone calls, no forms, no questions asked. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep full access until then. You can resubscribe at any time without losing your data.
If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days of a paid subscription, contact us and we'll issue a full refund. After 30 days, cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period and no further charges are made.
Yes. We offer discounted pricing for registered non-profit organisations, charities, and publicly funded organizations. Contact us with your organisation details and we'll set up a custom plan.
Devices and compatibility

Supported devices and platforms

VoiceBloom works in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Chromebooks, and laptops or desktops. Sign in at VoiceBloom and the full app loads with no install. The iOS app is live on the App Store and the Android app is live on Google Play; the web app also works on any device.
Yes. VoiceBloom is live on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android. VoiceBloom also runs fully featured in the browser at voicebloom.ca on every iPhone, iPad, Android device, Chromebook, and desktop.
Yes. Your account syncs across all devices in real time. Start a session on an iPad at home and continue on a phone at the park. Custom symbols, session history, and all settings stay in sync automatically.
Yes. VoiceBloom works on school-issued iPads and Android tablets. For managed devices, IT administrators can distribute the app through Apple School Manager or Google Workspace. Education plan subscribers receive onboarding support to help with deployment.
Therapists and organizations

For speech-language pathologists and organizations

The Family plan supports 3 children. The Therapy plan supports up to 10 children with individual profiles. The Education plan supports unlimited children and includes multi-seat access for staff. Each child gets their own personalized symbol board and separate session tracking.
Yes. On the Therapy and Education plans, therapists and parents have separate logins with different views. Parents see the parent dashboard with weekly reports and session summaries. Therapists see the clinical portal with detailed session data, IEP-ready reports, and progress tracking across all their clients.
Yes. Therapy and Education plans include an IEP report generator. It compiles session data, vocabulary growth, communication trends, and goal progress into a formatted report that speech-language pathologists can use directly in IEP meetings or share with school teams.

VoiceBloom is designed to complement existing therapy workflows. Session data and reports can be exported and shared with other tools your team uses. We're actively building integrations with popular practice management platforms, contact us if there's a specific tool you'd like us to support.
Privacy and security

How we protect your child's data

Yes. Therapy and Education plans include full HIPAA compliance. We sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) on request. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe) maintain SOC 2 Type II certification. Contact us to request your BAA.
Yes. VoiceBloom is designed for use by children and fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We collect only the minimum data necessary for the service, we never serve ads, we never sell personal information, and all accounts for children under 13 are managed by a parent or authorized adult.
No. We will never sell, share, or monetise your child's data. Your data is yours. We use it only to provide and improve the VoiceBloom service for your child. You can export or permanently delete all your data at any time from your account settings. Read our full privacy policy for details.
No. VoiceBloom uses Anthropic, which does not use customer data for model training. Your child's communication data is used only to personalize their individual experience within VoiceBloom. It is never shared with third-party models or used to train any external system.
All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with SOC 2 Type II certification. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Our hosting provider Vercel is also SOC 2 Type II certified. For full details, visit our security and compliance page.
Account management

Managing your VoiceBloom account

Go to the sign in page and click "Forgot password." Enter your email address and we'll send you a secure reset link. The link expires after 24 hours. If you don't receive it, check your spam folder or contact us.
Yes. You can export all session data, progress reports, and custom symbols from your account settings at any time. Exports are provided in standard formats that can be shared with therapists, schools, or imported into other tools.
You can delete your account instantly from your account settings. This permanently removes all your data: child profiles, session history, custom symbols, and payment information. Your subscription is canceled automatically. This action cannot be undone.
If you cancel your subscription, you keep full access until the end of your billing period. After that, your account moves to a read-only state: you can still view past session data and reports, but you can't start new sessions. Your data is retained for 12 months so you can resubscribe without losing anything. After 12 months of inactivity, data is permanently deleted.
