What if my child's SLP recommends a different app? ⌄
Listen to them. SLPs prescribe AAC apps for clinical reasons specific to your child, and that judgment matters. You can still trial VoiceBloom in parallel; the weekly progress report is designed to be sharable with any SLP regardless of which AAC app you settle on. If VoiceBloom isn't the right fit, we'd rather you find what is than commit you to something that doesn't help.
Do I need to buy an iPad to use VoiceBloom? ⌄
No. Most AAC apps require an iPad because they're iOS-only. VoiceBloom runs on whatever device your child already uses: iPhone, iPad, Android tablet, Android phone, Chromebook, or any modern browser. The total cost of buying an iPad plus a $300 AAC app plus a case plus a keyguard often exceeds the first year of a VoiceBloom subscription on a device the family already owns.
What if my child doesn't take to it? ⌄
Trying VoiceBloom costs nothing, and there's no card on file during your trial, so there's nothing to cancel. If you do subscribe and your child taps fewer than 10 symbols in their first month and you decide VoiceBloom isn't working, we'll refund that month and help you find an AAC tool that does. Email info@voicebloom.ca with the subject line "Refund and referral." No forms, no upsell call.
Do I need a credit card to start the free trial? ⌄
No. You can start your full 30-day free trial with just an email and password, no credit card needed. We email you a reminder before your trial ends so you can decide. If you want to keep going, you add a payment method then; if you don't, the trial simply ends and you are never charged. No questions asked.
What devices does VoiceBloom work on? ⌄
VoiceBloom runs fully featured in the browser at voicebloom.ca on any iPad, iPhone, Android device, Chromebook, or computer. Sign in and your child's personalized board loads in seconds, no install required. The iOS app is live on the App Store and the Android app is on Google Play.
Can I switch plans later? ⌄
Yes, any time. Upgrading takes effect immediately and you are only charged the difference. Downgrading takes effect at your next billing date. You will never lose your child's data when switching plans.
Is my child's data safe and private? ⌄
Absolutely. Your child's communication data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is not sold. We share it only with the service providers needed to run VoiceBloom (hosting, database, error monitoring, AI features) — the full list is in our subprocessor disclosure and Privacy Policy. Therapy and Education plans include a HIPAA BAA on request. You own your data and can delete it at any time from account settings.
How does personalization work? ⌄
Every time your child uses the app, VoiceBloom tracks which symbols they use most, what categories they prefer, and what time of day they are most communicative. VoiceBloom turns this into a built-in coach and progress reports that are specific to your child, not generic templates.
